Admission Requirements in Ireland for Pakistani Students

Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s applicants may need A-levels, Intermediate/HSSC, or bridging qualifications. Master’s applicants generally need a relevant bachelor’s degree.
English Language
IELTS and TOEFL are commonly accepted. Some universities may accept Duolingo or other tests, depending on programme requirements.
Academic Documents

Irish Language (Not Required)
Irish language proficiency is generally unnecessary for English-taught programmes. International students can study in English without taking an Irish language test.
Valid Passport

- University Admission You need an acceptance letter from an eligible Irish education provider for a full-time course. Check the current ILEP or TrustEd Ireland eligible-programme lists before applying.
- Financial Proof You must show evidence of access to at least €10,000 for living costs for a one-year course, in addition to proof that your tuition fees are paid.
- Health Insurance Valid private medical insurance is mandatory. You must purchase compliant insurance covering your entire stay in Ireland.
- Language Proficiency You may need to provide an English-language test score, such as IELTS or TOEFL. Some institutions also accept PTE Academic, Duolingo, or other approved tests based on their admission requirements.
- Passport & Documents Ensure your passport meets the required validity period and prepare all essential documents, including academic transcripts, a statement of purpose, a completed visa application form, and an updated CV.

Ireland does not use the APS certificate as a general requirement for Irish student visas. However, an acceptance letter alone is not sufficient for a visa application. Applicants must also meet the relevant immigration requirements and provide supporting documents, including evidence of finances, tuition fee payment, academic ability, language ability, insurance, and other required documentation.
